Hi! My name is Damien O’Mahony and I’m from Macroom, Co.Cork. I have over 12 years experience in web development and I’m currently a Senior Full Stack Developer with Tricel Killarney. About Me
Work Life
Having graduated with a Masters Degree in Interactive Media from UCC in 2017, I embarked on my professional career as a freelance web developer for one year. In April 2018, I took up the role of Graduate Web Developer in Tricel Killarney. Fast forward six years and I am still an integral part of Tricel, progressing to a Web Developer in 2019 and a Senior Full Stack Developer in 2022. I am the head of development and manage over 30 WordPress and 3 Magento websites for our group companies located across Ireland, the UK, France & Denmark. These range from lead generation websites to online shops and vary across multiple different languages. I also manage multiple web based apps and calculators. Throughout my career, I have conducted interviews for junior roles, mentored junior web developers and managed various projects.
I also volunteer with Macroom Golf Club as a Web Developer & Graphic Designer. This involves maintaining their website and creating posters, social media posts & graphics for upcoming events.

Personal Life
I’m sports mad! I played football, hurling and soccer up until minor level before taking up golf, which is my favourite pastime. I’m a member of Macroom Golf Club and currently play off a handicap of 16 and I represented the club in team events in 2023.
I’m also a keen cyclist and have completed the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle 4 times.
In May 2023, I took up running and ran 3 half marathons during that summer. I completed my first full marathon in Valencia, Spain last December in a time of 3:55:15. In June 2024, I completed the Cork City Marathon in 3:34:09 and in October 2024, I completed the Dublin Marathon in 3:20:15. I’m hoping to run another 2 marathons in 2025!
I also love to travel and have visited 24 countries so far……and counting!
